Cautionary Note

It would be foolhardy to believe that the 'good old days' are still here. We in Trinidad long for the days when one could walk down the streets at any time and not be the victim of harassment or worse. Trinidad is not safe anymore. We at Trinidad Dreamscape urge visitors and Trinidadians alike to exercise caution and common-sense as you explore our home. Please adhere to the local police advisories about how to avoid getting into (and getting out of!) dangerous situations. NEVER go ANYWHERE by yourself. If you get held up, and the criminal asks for your valuables, hand them over and DO NOT RESIST.

The crime situation as well as an inherent intolerance (suspicion?) of photographers in Trinidad give rise to repercussions for this site as well. Unlike Barbados, where the population is pretty much inured to camera-toting tourists, the same does not apply here. So how are the pictures of Trinidad made on this site? Very carefully.

It is our hope that we may, one day, have the pleasure of removing this cautionary note from our site. It may be a while, however. Until the 'good new days' arrive, make certain you don't end up another statistic by exercising prudence as you wander the countryside. Oh yes, please do not litter; litterbugs ruin my landscape shots!
