Dear film-chooser

Welcome to this, the first ever choose-film.com e-newsletter.

Since the site was launched on 24th February over 2,000 photographers have signed up to join our online community - not bad for the first month!

As the site develops and grows more features are being added, so keep clicking back to the site to see what's happening.

Improvements to online shop

We've improved our web sales infrastructure which now means there is no minimum order requirement for online orders.

We have also introduced a new delivery charge of £8.50 for each order. At present we can only process orders from UK, but we are working towards making the choose-film.com shop also available to non-UK members.

Get submitting - any film will do

There are still around 50% of you who haven't submitted any images –- come on, don't be shy, upload your best work today.

Choose-film.com is all about photographs, taking them, looking at them, praising them, criticising them, voting for them.

Although choose-film.com has been set-up by Fujifilm UK, we're keen to include photographers who shoot on ANY film, not just Fuji's –- so if you use Ilford, Konica, Agfa, Polaroid –- even Kodak! - you're welcome to submit your images.

We do have some standards though, so please –- no digital images.

Please note, that everybody gets 10 votes per week and can vote just once on each image. New news

We'll be adding a news section to the site very soon. If you've got any film-related news - maybe details of an event or an exhibition that you think members may be interested in, please submit it via email to pete@wpsmedia.co.uk - we can't guarantee inclusion but we'll do our best.

Forums

There's an old saying that goes, 'Life is all about opinions' - whoever said that must have must have visited the choose-film.com forums!

We've already had some heated discussions on censorship, some conspiracy theories on why Fujifilm would back choose-film, and a request from a member to suggest what event in history would you most like to have photographed!

Get your opinions across and visit the forums now.

Distinctions 2007

The 2007 Fujifilm Distinctions Awards is now open for entries.

Now in its fifth year, Distinctions is again dedicated to encouraging users of Fujifilm Professional film to get as creative as possible!

There's a first prize of £1,000 cash on offer to the winner, plus second and third place prizes of £500 and £250 cash respectively to the runners up.

The brief this year is again 'open', so photographers are not limited by the subject matter in any way. All images must be shot on Fujifilm Professional film and then the images are submitted online for first-round judging (www.fujifilmdistinctions.co.uk).

The closing date for entries is 1 October 2007, where a shortlist of Merit winners will be chosen, then asked to submit a photographic print for final judging. All Merit winners will receive a Fujifilm Distinctions Awards certificate. Entry to Distinctions is open to UK based photographers only.
